Each year, The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show picks kids from across the nation with terminal or chronic illness/disease and takes them and their families on an amazing trip to Disney World. The Kidd's Kids trip has been a staple of the show and each year they raise thousands of dollars on Kidd's Kids day to make it possible. This year, one Texoma family will be along for the trip.

Salvador Martinez, an 8 year old from Vernon, was one of this years selections. Big Sal (as he likes to be called) has a condition known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. According to the CDC, HLHS is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. As the baby develops during pregnancy, the left side of the heart does not form correctly. Big Sal has had numerous surgeries since he was a baby to fight this condition.

Salvador was nominated for the trip by his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Young. She donated every year and after learning about Big Sal's heart condition she told the family about it. Salvador says he hasn't told everyone in school about it yet, but he is pretty excited. It will be his first time on an airplane that he will remember (he flew once, but he was a baby) and he's most looking forward to riding the Space Mountain ride and meeting Goofy!

Elvira and Margarito Martinez (Salvador's parents) and his sister Monica will be going along for the trip in November. Big Sal promises that afterward, he'll come back to the station and share his awesome pictures and stories from the trip!
