Shark Week on the Discovery Channel has become a cultural phenomenon. Every year as it approaches, social media ignites with talk of sharks. You can hardly even go to a bar during Shark Week without seeing it on at least 1 of the TVs. Unfortunately, to keep up with the hype, Shark Week may have "jumped the shark."

As this video from Vox explains, Shark Week is getting higher viewer numbers than ever, but they are taking all the truth out of Shark Week to get it. Spreading fake information about sharks seems like a strange things to do on the "Worlds #1 Nonfiction Media Company."
