The great thing about cartoons has to be their ability to explore complex situations that could never happen in the real world.

For example, Spongebob Squarepants. Real ocean creatures don't live in houses, have jobs or talk and of course no squirrel has ever developed the technology required to live underwater for extended periods of time.

The truth is that Spongebob is completely fictional (If you haven't figured that out yet, you're welcome).

So what would it really be like to be sponge on the bottom of an ocean?

Let's just say life wouldn't be too good for Mr. Squarepants, who would more than likely have to watch his neighbor eat his boss while at the same time being eaten by his best friend all while lying helpless on the ocean floor.

That's pretty tragic, so be thankful Spongebob is just a cartoon.
