Experience the Fierce Obstacles of T.H.O.R. 2014 With This POV Video
On Saturday (April 12) over 1,000 brave souls from Wichita Falls and surrounding areas – even as far as El Paso – took on Texoma’s Hellacious Obstacle Run (T.H.O.R.).
T.H.O.R is “a non-profit 5(ish)K race benefiting Communities in Schools and other needy North Texas organizations.” This year T.H.O.R. brought in a record number of registrants and raised more than $70,000.
The off-road adventure through mud riddled trails and fierce obstacles started near the Bridwell Ag Center and winded along the Wichita River, past the Falls, through Camp Fillers, through Lucy Park and back to Bridwell.
My wife and I had the opportunity to do T.H.O.R. together this year. It was my first time to participate in the event and I have to admit, I was a bit nervous in the beginning. Not sure what to expect, I expected the worst. While the course certainly was hellacious, it turned out to be one of the best dates my wife and I have ever been on. It was so much more fun than I expected it to be.
And one of the best parts: we were able to donate our shoes to a regional rehabilitation hospital for veterans in need at the end of the run.
To prove that we survived to the end, I strapped a GoPro to my forehead and recorded video of many of the obstacles throughout the course from my point of view.
Watch the video below and relive T.H.O.R. 2014 or experience it for the very first time.
