They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, but in the case of this follow up to the greatest internet video ever, it's just embarrassing. It wasn't even two weeks ago when the world was changed with the release of the latest and greatest video to ever grace the interwebs. I am talking of course about the video simply called, "Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos."

It had everything you could need in an internet video. Food pictures, cute animals, absurd humor. We really couldn't ask for anything more. Unfortunately, people are never content letting something good just exist. They have to try to make their own versions of it. That is how this new video came to be.

Now, if this video on it's own had came out first, maybe, just maybe it would be ok. Unfortunately, this unsatisfying sequel came out a full week later and was made by someone completely different. It's obvious that this person saw the amazing original video and said to themselves, "I have a hamster, why can't I get this internet fame?"

Well, new guy who is a copycat, let me tell you the answer to that. It's one thing to have an amazing original idea, it's another thing to just capitalize on the creations of others. Now, I realize you tried to be original. You decided to have your hamster step away from the Mexican food and go in a more Italian direction. On the surface, this would be a good idea, but that was your final good idea.

In the original video, we see the meticulous creation of the burrito. We see the table get set, then we see the hamster devour the food in a hilarious and adorable way. In this new video we don't get any of these artistic touches that made us fall in love with 'Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos." Yes, you have a tiny piece of pizza, but we don't see it getting made. We don't know if you rolled the dough or just cut out a tiny little piece of a frozen Tony's deep dish.

The attention to detail was also very lacking. You put out some  dishes, but you don't fill the tea cup, you have human sized forks lying around. There isn't even a table. Is this hamster supposed to just eat on the floor like a common rodent? Part of what makes THETB (that's what the cool internet abreviation is) so great is the subtle little things. You overlooked all of these.

Finally, the worst part is the actual hamster. In THETB, the hamster eats that burrito like a champ. You see the puffy cheeks full of Mexican goodness. You see him sitting at the table. It's breathtaking. In this new video, this hamster grabs his pizza off the floor and eats it as though it was any normal food pellet. It's very dissappointing.

In conclusion, this new version is just a sad copy of the greatest video of all time. It could have been great. It could have been the sequal that actually topped the original, but no. They didn't follow through as well as they could have. As Hunter. S. Thompson once said, "If something's worth doing, it's worth doing right."
