Was The Avengers Midnight Showing Worth The Sleep Deprivation

Ever since the first sneak peek of a trailer was released for The Avengers I was hooked! I was honestly excited for this movie to come out. Last night it did come out – and it came out with a SMASH!

I went to the movie with the only other friend I have who is crazy enough and able to stay up until midnight. But he doesn't have kids that he has to wake up early with, so there was an inner turmoil comparable to that of The Hulk about staying up way past my bedtime for the midnight show or just waiting like a sane person until it fit into my schedule. I took the not so sane route…and I am paying for it with sleepiness today. But, you know what? It was totally worth it!

The Avengers is the best movie I have seen, maybe ever. It was hilarious. It was action packed. It was well done. It was awesome.

I was a little concerned that it would just be a good movie and focus on Iron Man, but the truth is Iron Man played a good role in the movie, but all the characters – Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, The Hulk, and even the villain Loki each has significant roles in making the movie perfect, believable, and not one sided. I think the biggest surprise (as you will see if you watch the movie) was the Hulk. The audience actually screamed, cheered, applauded, and got out of their seats when Banner turned green and released the beast.

If you didn’t see the movie during a midnight showing, I do envy you the sleep you got, but you missed out on an amazing movie, and people cooler than me who dressed up as characters from the movie.
