As expected, the Wichita Falls City Council voted today to lift water restrictions. There are a handful of restrictions that remain on the books which were made ‘permanent’ prior to the staged water use reductions. Those restrictions include:

  • No use of sprinklers between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on ANY day of the week. Landscape watering is permitted any time with a hand-held hose with a nozzle with a shut-off valve, soaker hose, bucket, watering can, bubbler or drip irrigation system.
  • You can also now wash your car and house with a hose but only if used with a positive shut off nozzle.
  • Restaurants may only provide water to customers upon request.

The ‘permanent’ restrictions could be modified in the future if recommendations from the water commission lean that direction. Both Lake Arrowhead and Lake Kickapoo remain at 100 percent capacity.
