Wichita Falls Native to Compete on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’
Wichita Falls native Robert “Bubba” McDaniel will be competing on the FX show The Ultimate Fighter, which premiers on January 22nd at 7:00 p.m. CST. The championship is the network’s longest-running reality series, which runs for 13 weeks during the season.
At the onset of the show, competitors will be divided into teams, and will then be coached by light heavyweight champion and MMA superstar Jon “Bones” Jones and the charismatic and controversial Chael Sonnen.
Hundreds tried out for the show, and the list has been narrowed to 28. When the season begins, they will each fight in elimination rounds to be one of the 14 remaining and will stay in The Ultimate Fighter house in Las Vegas. The competitors hail from the United States, Australia, England, and Sweden.
The winner of The Ultimate Fighter takes home a six-figure contract from the Ultimate Fighting Championship and gain the opportunity of a lifetime.
