Paul Baxter will be the new Wichita Falls Wildcats head coach, general manager of hockey operations, and partner effective May 1.

Baxter is coming in as the head coach of the Wenatchee Wild.

Baxter is a thirteen-year veteran of professional hockey, having played in the NHL including the Pittsburgh Penguins and Calgary Flames.

In his coaching career with Wenatchee, he took the Wild to two Robertson Cup Tournaments including getting to the championship game in the Wild's very first season.

Baxter replaces Mark LeRose as head coach after his contract was not renewed at the conclusion of the 2010-2011 season.
