A routine traffic stop in Wichita Falls led to the arrest of a Wichita Falls woman for identity theft.

At about 8:00 pm Saturday night (10/29), a WFPD officer pulled over a black Dodge Charger headed westbound in the 1500 block of North 8th St. for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

The passenger of the vehicle initially identified herself to the officer as Carol Rodriguez, but after consent was given to search her purse, police found her name was actually Carol Lynn Villa.

Villa was found to be in possession of several stolen credit cards and driver's licenses belonging to multiple victims. She was also wanted on 4 outstanding arrest warrants.

Villa was placed under arrest for the warrants and charged with fraudulent possession of identifying information. Her bond was set at $25,000 for the identity theft charge, and $6,000 for charges from the outstanding warrants: failure to identify-fugitive from justice, tampering with government records defraud/harm, interfering with public duties, and cruelty to non-livestock animals.
