Comedic icon Billy Crystal will return as host of the Academy Awards for the ninth time, replacing Eddie Murphy who bowed out yesterday. Just a few hours ago, Crystal confirmed his hosting gig on Twitter saying,

"Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions."

For his previous hosting duties, Crystal has won 5 Emmy Awards.  After the poorly received hosting performance of Anne Hathaway and James Franco last year, its a smart move for the Academy to go to one of the most successful hosts in the history of the show.  The Academy Awards will broadcast live on February 26, 2011.
