Cardi B Served With Lawsuit as She Walks to Set of New Netflix Show
In video The Blast captured Wednesday, Cardi is seen walking onto the set of Netflix's Rhythm + Flow, which is a music competition series where she will serve as the judge. On her way onto the set, she made some time to joke with photographers. As she approaches the door to the venue, a process server is seen dropping the papers in front of the rapper. While it seemed like she might've been a bit taken aback, she ultimately ignored the papers.
According to the celebrity news site, the legal docs stem a 2018 Met Gala incident that saw one man get assaulted.
As previously reported, a then-pregnant Cardi and husband Offset were at The Mark Hotel in New York City, when the alleged victim, Giovanni Arnold, reportedly tried to get an autograph from the Invasion of Privacy rapper. Arnold alleges that instead of getting an autograph, he was verbally assaulted by the couple before being physically attacked by three members of their security.
He filed a lawsuit against both Cardi and Offset days later, but it has been a bit of a process to serve them.
According to The Blast, Arnold waited to serve Cardi due to her being seven months pregnant at the time of the assault and, "out of respect and consideration for her and her baby’s wellbeing, as well as that of her fiancé, Offset, I chose not to immediately serve” them.
Arnold did, however, attempt to serve Offset while the Migos rapper was in Manhattan last summer. Apparently, though, Offset just threw the papers onto the ground.
