Recently, Robert Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, took part in the latest shareholder call for Disney. During these calls, it’s typical for big news related to major Disney initiatives to break, so that he can then discuss the business ramifications to shareholders. (This call was no different, as the release dates for the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land in Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios were announced that morning.) But the most exciting thing Iger revealed during this call is that the “entire Walt Disney motion picture library” would eventually be available on Disney+, the streaming service slated to be unveiled before the end of 2019.

For Disney fanatics, this news is genuinely thrilling. Over more than 80 years, Disney has gone from being an animation studio to a massive conglomerate, amassing plenty of live-action and animated films and TV shows that could find a virtual forever home on Disney+. Details about the service, and about exactly how many of these movies will be there on Day One, remain scant. But for now, let’s consider some of the most interesting titles that might be available on Disney+ when it opens its virtual doors.
