Drake Prays for Kevin Durant After NBA Finals Game Injury
Even though he's going hard for his Toronto Raptors hometeam and has been incessantly trolling the Golden State Warriors and their fans during the NBA Finals, Drake still has a lot of love for Kevin Durant. Following KD's injury during Game 5 on Monday night (June 10), Drizzy offered some kind words for the basketball star on social media.
"Was tough for any of us to even enjoy that game tonight after seeing this transpire. Praying for our brother," Drake wrote with a photo of KD. "That’s my only concern tonight is your well being. 'The game needs me' is an understatement when it comes to 35. Please wish the best for this true warrior."
KD was forced to leave the game in just the second quarter, after he suffered a right achilles injury. Drizzy's gesture was both a bit of a surprise, and expected. While he's name-dropped KD in many a song and even has a tattoo dedicated to him (which he covered during Game 1), the Toronto native has been going hard for the Raptors since they made it into the Finals for the first time ever. GSW has been trolling him right back, though, even playing Pusha-T's Drake diss "The Story of Adidon," during warmups.
Golden State ended up winning Game 5, but the bigger concern is what this injury looks like for the NBA star long-term. Game 6 is scheduled for Friday (June 14).
