Explore 9 Regional Museums In One Place This Saturday

Here's an opportunity to visit with staff and learn about nine regional museums all in the same place. Regional Museum Day is a showcase of natural history, fine art, and the unique heritage of Texoma in one special exhibition opening this Saturday at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU.

You'll have the opportunity to see sample exhibitions from museums across Baylor, Clay, Wichita, and Wilbarger counties. All of the museums involved are part of the newly formed Regional Museums Network. This new network of museums includes the Wichita Falls Railroad Museum, the Whiteside Museum of Natural History, the Wichita Falls Museum of Art, the Red River Valley Museum, the Museum of North Texas History, the Kell House Museum, the Clay County 1890 Jail Museum, the Burkburnett Historical Society, and the Baylor County Museum.

Margie Reese, Executive Director of the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture said,

These museums are preserving Texas heritage and culture for future generations through their collections. This event will give our area museums the opportunity to solidify their identities, build new audiences, and strengthen their bonds with local and regional partners.

Regional Museum Day is kid friendly and free to attend this Saturday, November 9th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU at #2 Eureka Circle, just off Midwestern Parkway. There will be staff from all nine of the participating museums on hand to answer any questions on Saturday, the exhibit will remain in place until November 16th.
