UPDATE: Fire At Howmet on I-44

Multiple fire and sheriff's units responded to a fire call at Howmet on I-44 shortly before 3 pm Monday.  Officials say the fire appears to have been caused by sparks from welding equipment that ignited insulation inside a wall.

Initially, 14 fire units responded to the blaze.  As of 5:15pm the fire is under control.  No injuries have been reported.  Fire officials are currently assessing the damage to determine the cost.  The plant remains open and operational.
