Step Inside This Haunted Texas Cemetery For A Good Scare
I'll be totally honest. Cemeteries have always creeped me out a bit. I don't know what it is. Growing up I remember visiting the graves of family members and feeling uneasy. Cemeteries seem harmless enough and many are in beautiful settings. Still, there's something about cemeteries.
If there's a haunted graveyard in Texas, I wanted to find out about it and its history. Not only did I find what I was looking for, but I also hit the motherlode in Austin. According to Austin Ghosts, there's a haunted burial ground that dates back to the 1850s and is named by many the most haunted cemetery in the state of Texas.

The Oakwood Cemetery in Austin is on over 40 acres of land and has over 23,000 bodies buried there. That very well may be the reason so much paranormal activity has been reported. One of the more popular spirits to look out for is that of 17-year-old Eula Phillips. She was horribly murdered with an ax on Christmas Eve in 1885. Eula's husband was accused at the time but later cleared when other victims matching Eula's likeness were also killed. The real murderer was never found.
As far as paranormal activity goes, reports include brightly colored orbs with an apparition of a young woman wailing as she roams the grounds. Physic mediums have sensed Eula's presence time and time again.
If you're a paranormal enthusiast or just like the creepy, a visit to Oakwood could make for the perfect weekend road trip. A good scare to get your blood pumping may be just what you need.
