Keep an eye out for the bloodmobile! It’ll be stationed at the event, where participants can enjoy a variety of perks. Along with a free glow-in-the-dark “Peoplejuice” t-shirt, donors will be entered into a raffle for a Carlson-branded cooler bag.

Schedule an appointment or just walk in! “Giving blood is essential, and we’re hoping Halloween spirit will inspire people to come donate,” says event organizer Roger Jenkins. To make an appointment, reach out to him at 940-285-6333—walk-ins are also welcome.

Grab some swag! With prizes, giveaways, and a great cause, this blood drive gives the community a one-of-a-kind way to give back this Halloween.

Here are some statistics about blood donation:

  • Approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed daily in the U.S. to treat patients in surgeries, cancer treatment, trauma care, and for chronic illnesses.
  • Blood cannot be manufactured: It can only come from volunteer donors, making regular blood drives critical.
  • Type O negative blood is the universal donor: It can be given to patients of any blood type, making it vital in emergencies.
  • One in seven people entering a hospital needs blood, showing how common the need for transfusions is in medical care.
  • Donated platelets must be used within five days, and red blood cells must be used within 42 days, meaning there’s a constant need for fresh donations.
  • A car accident victim can need as many as 100 pints of blood during treatment.
