Do you have the guts to visit what many people say is the best haunted house in Texas?

You don’t have to travel far to find an outstanding haunted house in the Lone Star State. It seems like there’s one on every corner.

With that in mind, I did some digging around the internet to see which is ranked the best in our neck of the woods. While it’s certainly debatable, the consensus is that Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth is Number 1 in the state.

Not only is Cutting Edge ranked the best in Texas, but it was also ranked Number 1 in the entire country in 2023 by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Not too shabby, huh?

And did I mention Cutting Edge is a Guinness World Record holder?

Haunted house enthusiasts will want to make the trip to one of the most unique haunted houses I’ve ever heard of. It’s located in a 100-year-old abandoned meat packing plant that currently serves a more sinister purpose:

Located in a 100-year-old abandoned meat packing plant in a section of Fort Worth historically dubbed as “Hell’s Half Acre,” the Cutting Edge Haunted House is built upon a foundation of fear. The meat packing equipment from the Old West is still in use, but now it is a two-story human processing area. Realistic looking human mannequins are hoisted up to the second level and brought through the entire meat packing process until the conveyor system brings the butchered corpses back to the first level.

If you have what it takes to make your way through this frighteningly realistic haunted house, plan your visit here.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
