In the history of the NHL, no team has ever lost like the Dallas Stars did last night. Right before the playoffs, it's not what you want to see.

The National Hockey League is over 100 years old and I find it hard to believe that no other team has ever done this. The Dallas Stars became the first team ever to blow a three goal lead in the third period with under ONE minute to play. Yes, if you missed the game, the Dallas Stars were winning 5-2 with sixty seconds to go.

Now the Canucks are fighting for a playoff spot, so they live to see another day. However, for a team that is supposedly one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup this year. It's feeling like the Stars can't keep their foot on the gas in late game situations. The Stars have four games remaining and a big one on Thursday against the Jets. The one seed is still possible and the Jets currently hold that. The Stars didn't get an additional point last night with blowing a three goal lead in under a minute.

This morning, I saw several fans calling this the worst Stars ending ever. If anybody wants a good laugh today, watch this moment above from January 4, 2007. Patrick Stefan for the Dallas Stars misses an empty net goal, INCHES in front of the net. The Oilers then get the puck and tie the game with two seconds left.

Now the Stars would win this game in a shootout, but without a doubt the most frustrating Stars game I ever saw was this one. You can't miss an empty net goal when you're that close.
