“Eddie is a national treasure that we get to celebrate and recognize locally, and not everybody gets that luxury,” Mayor Short said to KFDX. “The most important part about this for me was that we could do it while he was still able to accept it and be here and be able to see his friends and neighbors who want to celebrate this with him.”
