Lay's 'Do Us a Flavor' 2025 Competition
Back in 2014, Lay's potato chips started a new annual competition. They ask folks across the country to give them new chip flavor ideas. Those submissions are then voted online and Lay's actually makes the top finalists into actual chips. After people can try the new flavors, an official winner is chosen and that flavor becomes permanent in the Lay's chip aisle. The person who submitted the idea also gets one million dollars.
Fun Fact, a Wichita Falls Man Almost Won in 2015
James Wagner who lives right here in Wichita Falls submitted his idea of 'Greektown Gyro' potato chips inspired by The Hibiscus Cafe right here in Wichita Falls. Sadly, James lost out to the flavor 'Southern Biscuits and Gravy' that year. He still got $50,000 for being a top four finalist in the competition.
Paula George Out of Sapulpa, Oklahoma Has a Chance to Win in 2025
This year, Lay's only chose three finalists and one of them is just North of us. Paula George came up with the idea of a bacon grilled cheese flavored chip. She said her dad loved to make those sandwiches and she thinks it would make the perfect flavor combo.
As you can see, Paula has some stiff competition this year with two other very interesting flavors. She is going against 'Valentina and Lime' and 'Korean Style Fried Chicken'. Apparently all three chip flavors will be in stores starting April 21. You're encouraged to try all three then vote on what flavor you want to be permanent. You have until June 13th, to vote on the Lay's website for your favorite.
