Details on Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Wichita Falls
Over the weekend we found out that a local store sold a seven figure ticket for the Mega Millions. Here's what we know so far.
Well congratulations to someone in Wichita Falls that purchased a ticket for the Mega Millions drawing that occurred on Friday night. According to the Texas Lottery website, whoever purchased this ticket did not use the quick picks feature. They picked out the five winning numbers for Friday's night's drawing. Which was 2-22-33-42-67. Sadly the person did not guess the Megaball correct to win the full jackpot. Since they had 2X on the prize amount they win two million dollars.
Where Was the Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold at in Wichita Falls?
The winning ticket was sold at WF D S TEXAS SAVER according to the Texas lottery website. The address listed is 911 Kemp Boulevard which gives us this gas station that many probably just call the Phillips 66 near Don Jose's in Wichita Falls. If you purchased a Mega Millions ticket there last week, CHECK THOSE NUMBERS.
How Much Does the Winner Get After Taxes?
According to the TaxAct lottery calculator. In the state of Texas, the winner of a two million dollar prize would receive $1,520,000. Texas has no state tax on lottery winnings, but the federal government would be taxing away 24%. So to whoever won this in town, $480,000 will be going to our favorite person Uncle Sam.
Congratulations to whoever purchased the ticket in town. The next Mega Millions drawing will be Tuesday night. The jackpot is currently at $250 million.
