For those returning for the fall semester at Midwestern State University, a new mural is up in the Bridwell Activities Center that was done by a local artist.

It was about a year ago we talked about Wichita Falls artist Selena Mize and her awesome Post Malone mural in Deep Ellum. Over the past several months she has shared more of her murals that she has worked on. She has a massive one in Vernon honoring Roy Orbison, but a new one just wrapped up a little closer to Wichita Falls.

Bridging the Gap Mural at Midwestern State University

If you visit the second floor of the Bridwell Activities Center you will find this new mural pictured above. The mural is located in between the Student Success and Military Education Center. The mural connects the two centers and has been named 'Bridging the Gap'.

The mural features students and also members from different branches of the military. Sheppard Air Force Base representatives generously offered their time to meticulously review elements ranging from badges and uniforms to sideburn length, ensuring alignment with military branches and uniform norms.

Selena actually graduated from Midwestern State University back in 2018. She says her goal is to create artwork that brings communities together and uplifts one another in more ways than one and to leave places a little brighter than they were before.
