Yelp Ranks Texas Deli Among Top 5 Sandwich Shops in the U.S.

If you're looking to try one of the best sandwiches in the country, look no further than Texas. Yelp recently released its list of the best sandwiches, and a Houston-area shop made the top 5.

I’m not above making a road trip just to try new restaurants. Admittedly, I’ll do other things in between meals, but the main mission for me is to put Yelp to the test. So far, I can only recall one instance in which I wasn’t impressed by a restaurant with a high rating.

Texas Always Shows Up in Yelp Rankings

So, any time I get an email from them promoting their latest rankings, I dive right in – mostly out of curiosity as to whether any places in Texas made the list. You can pretty much count on a Texas restaurant making the top 100 in any sort of ranking, but I was particularly impressed when I saw that Tony’s Italian Delicatessen was ranked the fourth-best sandwich shop in the U.S.

One look at the official website or Instagram page and it’s easy to see why. However, I wouldn’t recommend looking on an empty stomach. Otherwise, you may feel the urge to jump in your ride and make the trip. Some folks say they’re willing to drive two hours just to get their hands on one of those sandwiches. Now, if that’s not a resounding endorsement, I don’t know what is.
