Vernon, Texas Firefighters and Police Battling it Out for a Good Cause

An old fashioned police versus firefighters battle is coming up. Who do you got?

First of all, thank you to the men and women of all our local police and fire departments. However, sides will be chosen in a couple of weeks of who to root for in a 'friendly' basketball game between the two departments over in Vernon. The Battle of the Badges is taking place March 27th at 6:30 PM.

Donations are being accepted at the door for spectators to come watch the two departments battle it out on the court. You can watch the game at the D.O. Fulton Gym in Vernon at 2102 Yucca Lane. Don't be shocked over the next few weeks if you see the two departments engaging in a little friendly smack talk. 

The two departments Facebook pages have been very active and if you were unaware a game was taking place. You may think these two actually hate each other right now.

The good thing that this is event is doing is raising money for a non-profit of each departments choosing. So if you need something to do in a few weeks, go check out the game and support a good cause. Plus someone is going to have bragging rights for awhile and you know the other department is going to let them know about it for quite some time.
