With the extremely dry weather in Wichita Falls, we all know how quickly a fire can spread. You can help out the brave men and women around town this week with a local donation drive.

Here is an awesome community event in Wichita Falls that you can be a part of the next few days. Sikes Senter Mall and Community Partners are putting on a donation drive at the mall Wednesday through Friday. You can drop off items at the mall entrance near Boot Barn. Please no cash donations, our local fire departments could use the following items.

  • Crackers
  • Gum
  • Chapstick
  • Eye Drops
  • Bandanas

  • Sunscreen
  • Advil
  • Tylenol
  • Benadryl
  • Cold Packs
  • Electrolyte Packets
  • Disposable Cups/Plates/Utensils

You can bring any of those following items to the Sikes Senter Mall entrance near Boot Barn on Wednesday or Thursday from 1PM to 4PM. On Friday the donation drive will last from 1PM to 5:30PM. The folks at Sikes Senter Mall say you won't even have to get out of your car, they're offering a curbside drop off for the items listed above.

Friendly Reminder Wichita County Under a Burn Ban Through October 4th

Speaking of local volunteer fire departments in Wichita Falls. Wichita West let us know this morning that the burn ban for our county remains until October 4th. Probably best to skip the fire pit the next few weeks, but with how hot it has been I don't think any of us want to spend some time near a fire right now anyway.
