A woman had to have a portion of her leg amputated and she claims a Wichita Falls nail salon is to blame.

Right now nail salons across Wichita Falls are probably busy with everyone wanting to get ready for Valentine's Day. Just about two years ago, one woman walked into Pro Nails which is just off Midwestern Parkway for a pedicure. She claims that pedicure caused an infection in her leg.

Back on February 20, 2024 Sandra Davis walked into Pro Nails at 3910 Wayne Avenue. Now Sandra in her lawsuit does mention that she recently went to a doctor to have a hangnail removed from one of her toes. When she went into Pro Nails, she didn't think it would be an issue, nor was she warned an issue could arise.

Sandra claimed after the pedicure she felt intense pain. She would be admitted to a hospital about a month later. The lawsuit claims that Sandra's leg infection had progressed to gangrene and guot. Gangrene causes a lack of blood flow and doctors informed Sandra her best treatment was to remove the infected area. Sandra's left leg from the knee down was amputated.

Sandra's lawsuit filed in the Wichita County 89th District Court is seeking over one million dollars in damages. She claims Pro Nails in Wichita Falls did not take into account her medical history and used unclean utensils on her feet during the pedicure. She also claims proper sanitation procedures were not followed in the salon. We will wait and see how Sandra's case goes in court.
