Wichita Falls Police Officers Carry Kids to School Over Flooded Road

Finally getting some rain in Wichita Falls today and it caused a few flash flood warning around town. Kids on their way to school this morning got a helping hand from a pair of Wichita Falls police officers.

If you lived in Wichita Falls around 2010, you know to never complain about the rain. We're thankful for every drop we get. Wichita Falls lake levels on Monday were 72.1%. I have to imagine after the rain we got last night, that number will move up a bit during the next check. However, with all the rain we got. Some roads were tough to maneuver through with standing water.

Wichita Falls Police Officers Carry Kids at Rider Middle School This Morning

Twyla Thompson shared a video of two police officers literally carrying kids on their backs so that they didn't go into Rider middle school with soaked socks. Thanks to the WFISD, we know who these two officers were. Officers Myers and Officer Strickland were the ones who got soaked this morning, so the kids wouldn't have to. Shout out to these two officers for helping out these kids today.

Wichita Falls was under a flash flood watch until 1045 this morning due to the excessive rainfall overnight. Looks the rain will be going away after today, but the fall weather hits us hard this weekend. We have highs in the low 60's for Wichita Falls and...prepare yourself for this. Lows in the 40's overnight through Monday morning. If you have been blasting the air conditioner the past few months, it's about to get some much needed relief this weekend.
