Large Sections of the Wichita Mountains Are Closed Due to Wildfire
To anyone planning a weekend trip to the Wichita Mountains, a massive wildfire broke out yesterday and several hundred acres are affected.
Wildfire Ignites in the Wichita Mountains Thursday Night
It was around 5:30 yesterday afternoon that the public became aware of a large wildfire affecting several acres in the Wichita Mountains. As of right now an official number has not been released, but they're estimating between 200-300 acres at least has been caught in the blaze last night. That number has increased this morning. Winds have pushed the fire north of the Wichita Mountains Refuge.

If you know someone in the Mountain Village and Sheridan Estates area an evacuation order has been in effect the past few hours as a precaution for their safety. The following areas are closed right now due to the wildfires in the area.
As you can see, many popular areas in the Wichita Mountains are currently affected by the wildfires and the public is urged to avoid the area.
Holy City Has Been Spared in the Blaze
Looking at the maps of the wildfires burning in the Wichita Mountains. It appeared that the Holy City was right in the middle of the blaze. According to their Facebook page, they did not get caught up in the wildfires last night.
