Lubbock, Texas Named Most Boring City in America
If you're ever bored here in Wichita Falls, guess it could be worse.
I haven't visited a lot of cities in Texas. One I have been told is pretty bad is Lubbock, Texas. Once again, just basing this off of word of mouth. Well I guess the jury has spoken on this one. According to the real estate site, Movoto, Lubbock was named the most boring city in America.
Now there were some rules to make this list. You had to have at least 100,000 people in your town. Some reasons Lubbock got its poor ranking are culture (arts per capita ranked 73rd and the music venues per capita ranked 83rd) and the food scene (ranked dead last in the non-fast food restaurant category), although its nightlife was praised, which means ranking in the middle of the pack compared to the other cities (58th).
Other Texas cities like Irving, Laredo, and Plano all made the top 10 on the boring list.
Fun fact about me: when I was in high school I flew down to Texas my sophomore and junior year to look at colleges. My grandfather took me all over Texas. Austin, College Station, Denton, Stephenville, Nacogdoches and of course Wichita Falls. The one city he refused to take me to was Lubbock. He told me, "You're not going to that place." Now that this list is out, thanks grandpa.
