For one man in Utah, it would appear he wants to get closer to nature. He’s been spotted in the mountains, dressed like a goat.

He was first spotted amongst a herd of real goats by a man who was hiking nearby. That individual alerted wildlife officials, who are scratching their heads as to why the man is doing what he’s doing. They’re concerned that hunters may mistake him for an animal come hunting season. They’d like to talk with him, but so far haven’t been able to. Moreover, there’s always the chance that he’ll be attacked by a real goat.

The goats don’t seem to mind too much, however, as he was in the midst of them and following them around.

Things got even weirder with a phone call that came in after the “goat man” made news. The caller, who seemed upset, simply stated, "Leave goat man alone. He's done nothing wrong.'"

Another hiker, Coty Creighton, spotted the man over the weekend, and he described the scene:

He said he pulled out binoculars to get a closer look at the herd about 200 yards away and was shocked. The man appeared to be acting like a goat while wearing the crudely made costume, which had fake horns and a cloth mask with cut-out eye holes, Creighton said.

‘I thought, `What is this guy doing?' ‘ Creighton said. ‘He was actually on his hands and knees. He was climbing over rocks and bushes and pretty rough terrain on a steep hillside.’

Whatever the goat man is doing out there, he’s attracting a lot of attention. As long as he doesn’t do anything ba-aad, he’ll probably continue hanging out with his four-legged friends.
