Pop/country singer Michelle Branch is expecting a baby with rocker boyfriend Patrick Carney. Branch shared the news on Instagram, adding that the pregnancy was a surprise.

Branch and Carney of the Black Keys met in 2015 when he produced her Hopeless Romantic album. One year earlier she had separated from husband Teddy Landau, with whom she had a baby girl named Owen in 2005. The Wreckers singer reveals that she was preparing for a wedding when they learned that a baby is coming.

"Well, we were just about to send Save the Dates for our wedding in May when we got this little surprise," Branch writes beneath a video of the ultrasound. "Baby Carney is happening this summer and Patrick and I could be more excited."

The couple became engaged on Branch's birthday in 2017. This will be Carney's first child — he's been married twice before.

“It’s like, why couldn’t we have just met each other in our 20s," the 34-year-old Branch joked to Billboard in 2017. "We would have saved so much heartache!"

Carney is 37 years old.

The Wreckers were a duo that included Branch and her best friend Jessica Harp. They notched three songs inside the Top 40 of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, including their No. 1 hit "Leave the Pieces." "My, Oh My" and "Tennessee" would follow before they broke up in 2008. In August 2017 the duo reunited for a show in Nashville.
