Nelly plans to go back to his Country roots by releasing new music executive-produced by Florida Georgia Line.

In a recent interview with Atlanta's V-103 at the Tycoon Music Festival posted Monday (June 17), Nelly opened up about his upcoming projects. During their conversation, the OG of Country-inspired hip-hop revealed that he's going on tour with TLC and Flo-Rida and teaming up with Florida Georgia Line for an EP executively produced by the Country duo.

"I also got an EP coming out that's on a whole other side that's executively produced by Florida Georgia line. It's on some whole other stuff," Nelly said about the project.

It's been some time since we've heard new music from Nelly. The last project he released was M.O. in 2013, which features his previous collaboration with Florida Georgia Line "Walk Away" produced by Rico Love.

The revelation comes just months after U.K. police determined that Nelly would not be criminally charged in an alleged sexual assault case. According to TMZ, the accuser’s lawyer Karen Koehler explained that her client didn’t want to help Essex police's investigation. Although Nelly is looking to have the case dropped, Koehler's client wants to focus on filing a federal lawsuit to get justice.

News of Nelly's EP arrives at a time when the idea of country-infused hip-hop is coming into the mainstream. Lil Nas X, whose song "Old Town Road" has spent 11 weeks straight at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, is at the forefront along with Young Thug, who brought some country vibes with his 2017 song, "Family Don't Matter." At the moment, there is no release date for Nelly's new project. Hopefully, there will new bangers that will make his smash Country hit "Over & Over" featuring Tim McGraw off his Sweatsuit album sound obsolete.
