After a month long online contest to name the team the votes were counted and winning entry was the Wichita Falls Warriors. Along with the name comes a brand new logo featuring a warrior's helmet surrounded by the outline of Texas all on the front of a warrior's shield.

The Wichita Falls Warriors will be part of the North American Hockey League, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior league. With 26 teams, the league prides itself on social maturity and skill development for all of its student-athletes. The players, age 16 to 20, participate with the intent of advancing into collegiate or professional hockey in the future.

Home games will be played at Kay Yeager Coliseum and season tickets are already available on the Wichita Falls Warriors website. They plan on having 28 home games next season and season tickets start at $24 a month.
