In a recent interview, Serbian cellist Jelena Mihailovic has confirmed she has been hired to compose and perform the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film, which she also claims might be titled "Carte Blanche".

Just a few months ago, author Jeffrey Deaver released an official James Bond reboot novel by the same name that redefines the literary character of James Bond as a young agent, veteran of the Afghanistan war, in modern day MI6.  Jeffrey Deaver's novel takes 007 to several locations across the globe including Serbia, India and South Africa, all locations that director Sam Mendez has chosen as locations for the upcoming movie.  Also in the book, Bond deals with "a train carrying deadly cargo", a story point that coincides with reports of large train set pieces on location in India.

In Deaver's reboot, Bond is a brash, troublesome young agent (such as Craig portrayed in "Casino Royale") who has been drafted by a secret government agency and given "carte blanche" ("a blank check") to deal with an escalating threat by any means necessary.  If this is truly the basis story for the upcoming film, Daniel Craig's new rough and gritty James Bond would be a perfect fit in the story.

Still tentatively titled "Bond 23", the film is set for release on November 9th, 2012 with Daniel Craig and Judi Dench returning as Bond and M respectively, Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort from the Harry Potter series) and Javier Bardem ("No Country For Old Men") joining the cast as the new Bond villians, and Niaome Harris ("Pirate of the Caribbean: At World's End") rumored to be the new Moneypenny, M's assistant.
