“Prometheus” Teaser Trailer Debuts [VIDEO]

Fans of the "Alien" series are both excited and confused at the idea of "Prometheus".  "Alien" director Ridley Scott has returned to direct this film that has been described as not a prequel, but a different story set in the same universe as the original films.

According to Wikipedia, "Prometheus" is set in the late 21st century and is about the crew of the Prometheus who investigate the alien civilization responsible for modern humans on Earth, while encountering the origins of the Xenomorphs from the original films.

Charlize Theron is the most recognizable name on the cast, but she is not the star.  Star of the original Swedish "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", Noomi Rapace stars as Elizabeth Shaw, who has been described as the Sigourney Weaver of the new film.  In keeping with the originals, the Prometheus has a robot crew member, this time played by "X Men: First Class" star Michael Fassbender.

"Prometheus" is set for release on June 8, 2012.
