Sarah Jessica Parker looks back on that polarizing wedding dress she wore in the Sex and the City movie with fond memories.

Carrie Bradshaw, the character Parker brought to life in SATC, is a fashion icon renowned for her bold ensembles. Even though she's a fictional character, her looks have been immortalized by the likes of Harper's Bazaar.

Sometimes Carrie made risky wardrobe decisions, which inspired trends in real life. Other times the results were met with confusion by fans. Take for example the oversized ballgown she paired with a bird headdress when she was planning on marrying Mr. Big (Chris Noth) in 2008's big-screen adaptation Sex and the City.

Fans likely remember how that went down.

The dress — designed by Vivienne Westwood — was met with mixed reactions. Glamour notes that a recreation of the gown (minus the headdress) sold out within hours of release back in 2009. However, others seemed to believe that Carrie's wedding look was best left on the big screen.

Despite that, Sarah Jessica Parker does not seem to regret it at all. She reflected on Carrie's outrageous-in-all-the-right-ways wedding dress in a video for Vogue.

"I almost can't talk about it. I loved this so much," Parker said after seeing a photo of the iconic look. "It's been made clear to me that not everybody felt the same way about this dress, which maybe makes me feel even more affection for it."

The Hocus Pocus star added that she had equally strong feelings about the wacky headdress: "This bird, I saw it and thought it was magnificent."

Parker revealed that it did spark a conversation with the film's director Michael Patrick King, who had no advance warning about the outlandish accessory. "It was a little bit of an ambush," she said. "When I came to the set he was like, 'Why is there a bird on your head?'"

"I was like, 'Look at the bird. You would have made the same decision,'" she alleged. Thankfully they were able to come to an agreement about what has gone down in cinematic history as a truly one-of-a-kind bridal look.

It's also worth pointing out that Carrie's headdress may not have become a fixture in streetwear, but it did get a shout out in the franchise's 2021 reboot And Just Like That..., according to Refinery29.
