Anti-Bullying

Lizzie Velasquez has been become an icon for the anti-bully movement with her motivational speeches, and a recent Facebook meme trend has caused her to speak out once again.

For the past few weeks there has been a battle brewing between the Weinstein Company and MPAA over the rating for the documentary "Bully", with the MPAA refusing to back down from its "R" rating due to "brief use of explicit language."  Now, the Weinstein Company has come up with a way around the rating.

Bullying in schools today is an on-going battle, with many parents, teachers, and school administrators taking the stance of "Well, kids can be cruel" and not even attempting to fix the problem.  Thousands of children every day are subjected to bullying in some way at school, either physical violence or verbal attacks to break down their self esteem and ideas of self worth...

Though Star Wars is the theme for this day, its not just about Star Wars.  This day is about not being ashamed to show off what you are passionate about.  To never let anyone tell you that you are wrong for liking what you do.  And it all started last year with a 7-year-old girl.
