The 16th anniversary of the September 11 attacks still rings as fresh and as devastating as ever.

On Wednesday morning in New York, family and friends of the victims of 9/11, along with law-enforcement and political leaders, gathered at the World Trade Center site to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

I can honestly say I never bought into the politicization of the September 11 attacks. Not for a second. Yes, once the facts were known, I realized it was an act of war which required a political and, likely, military response from our country. But I never thought of it as a holy war and I damn sure never thought it justified any fundamental change in the way we live our daily lives.

Wednesday marks the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Memorial services will be held all across the country, many involving a reading of the victims' names.

This is pretty unsettling. A man named Randy Scott was trapped inside the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and before he died, he scribbled a note asking for help and threw it out an open window.

It happens at least once a day in the radio station studio.  I answer the phone, say, "NIN Hello", and then... nothing.  I can hear maybe a faint conversation going on, some road noise, but now one is there.  Yep. It's a butt dial. Now, thanks to a new study, we know that 911 operators get butt dialed ALL THE TIME.
