The Official Three Stooges Website is reporting that actor Chris Diamantopoulos is the front-runner for the role of Moe in the upcoming "Three Stooges" film from the Farrelly Brothers.

After appearing as Robin Williams in a made-for-TV biopic, Diamantopoulos was immediately noticed by the Farrelly Brothers as a candidate for the leader of the Stooges.  Other rumored possibilities included "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville and Hank Azaria.  Diamantopoulos was recently seen in the final season of "24" as well as on USA's short-lived series "The Starter Wife".  Though he hasn't officially signed for the movie, he is expected to be offered the part soon so the Farrelly Brothers can begin production for a 2012 release.

Diamantopoulos joins the cast of "Sh*t My Dad Says" and "MadTV" star Will Sasso as Curly and "Will & Grace" star Sean Hayes as Larry.  "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara is rumored for the female lead.
