It took me a moment to realize what I had just read when I first saw the title at WWE.com.  Not one to hold back and known for his controversial statements which he refers to as "pipe bombs", WWE Champion CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) took to Twitter yesterday before the live Raw Supershow to express his opinion of Chris Brown to his 650,000 followers,

"I would like @chrisbrown fight somebody that can defend themselves,"

Brown quickly replied with the following posts which have since been deleted,

"@CMpunk needs more followers. He's such a leader! Not to mention the roids hes on has made it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women."

"@CMpunk contact my assistant and I'll have em send u an autographed pic for my biggest FAN!!!"

Just over an hour ago, CM Punk added fuel to the fire, posting a video reply,

It didn't take but a few minutes for Brown to reply on Twitter,

"@cmpunk the video u just posted was cute! It's so funny how defensive u are.  And the fact that I really don't know who you are and could give a [expletive] is the funny part! I really hope this 15 minutes of fame is paying you for the long run becuz music last forever! Wrestlers come and go according to ratings!"

Since then, Chris Brown has tweeted the following comments,

"Just so teambreezy knows... I'm never "ANGRY" when I speak my mind on twitter! They want me to be mad! Thats the difference! Love"

"Note:today will be the last day I bring @cmpunk existence up!The confrontations that people continuously bring my way are very amusing."

"Cuz honestly, that sh*t is too time consuming to argue wit every person who has their own issues to deal with!"

Its amazing how quickly this got out of hand.  As a huge fan of CM Punk, and not so much one of Chris Brown, I'm obviously siding with Punk.  Though I understand and agree with Punk's statement that Brown hasn't paid for what he did to Rihanna, I do wonder what instigated Punk's post.  Unless this was a response to the news of a possible rekindling of a relationship between Brown and Rihanna, I don't know what made Punk single out Brown out of the blue.  Yes, Punk started it, but looking at Brown's replies, Punk is winning the war.

What do you think?  Should people lay off Chris Brown, or should he just expect this kind of treatment for the foreseeable future?
