Flooding in Wichita Falls: Roads to Avoid + Photos and Video From Around Town
UPDATE (5/8/15 9:00 AM): FM 1954 and Ford Road going into Holliday are both closed this morning due to flooding.
Severe thunderstorms continued to move across Texoma today producing heavy rain, strong winds and some small hail. A flash flood warning for much of Texoma is in effect until 7:15 PM.
According to the Wichita County Sheriff's department, these are the roads in Wichita Falls that drivers should avoid due to flooding from heavy rain:
- 368 North Of Bacon Switch
- Wylie Road
- McNiel and Berrywood
- Holliday & 15th
- East Scott
- Fort Worth
- Lincoln
- Cypress
- Tower
- Hamilton
- Rhea Road and Southwest Parkway
- Avenue D and Kemp
- Alabama and Wenonah
- Pyrenees and Summit
- North Scott and Lincoln
- 9th And Seymour Highway
- Seymour Highway & Turtle Creek
- Avenue M and Monroe
- Highway 79 and Kemp
