Woman Attacked by Shark Now Fights For Their Protection

Shark Week is this weekend so I have been looking up shark stuff and I found this story about a woman in 2004 who was attacked by a shark and lost her Achilles tendon.

Debbie Salamone was swimming in Cape Canaveral when a shark attacked her. Debbie survived the attack, but the heartwarming part of the story is Debbie is now fighting for shark protection. In 2009 she joined the Pew group and is hoping her story can bring awareness to the crimes that go into shark fin soup.

Debbie says "If we can stick up for sharks, that turns a lot of heads."

It turned mine for sure I don't know if I could be able to defend an animal that nearly took my leg.
