After a scary incident at a live event, rumors indicate that 25-year-old WWE Superstar Paige's days as an in-ring performer are over.

During a women's match on December 28th at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, Paige (real name Saraya-Jade Bevis) was kicked in the back by one of her opponents, Sasha Banks. Paige hit the mat and had trouble getting back to her feet, ultimately falling back down after standing up. The referee checked on Paige and ended the match, calling for medical personnel to bring a stretcher to the ring, though Paige ended up leaving under her own power.

Paige, who recently returned to the ring after an extended absence due to a neck injury, was believed to have suffered what is known as a stinger, a temporary loss of feeling in the extremities after a blow to the neck and/or spine. While a stinger is not something that would cause the end of a performer's career, the WWE was concerned after Paige's recent neck surgery and requested further testing, of which the results were reportedly not good.

Several sources have confirmed with Pro Wrestling Insider that WWE informed Paige this past Monday that she would no longer be cleared to wrestle due to the extent of her injuries. This is a similar situation to the events that lead to the early end of WWE Hall of Famer Adam "Edge" Copland's career several years ago. At this point there is no word when Paige will officially announce her retirement, if the rumors of her status are true.

This marks an unfortunate culmination to a bad time in Paige's personal and professional life, which was finally on an up-swing. Paige was originally out of action due to two consecutive suspensions for failed drug tests, taking the time off to have her neck surgery. While out of action, intimate photos and videos of Paige were released on the internet, with more pictures and videos being leaked just recently.

Though only 25, Paige has had a long career, having grown up in a wrestling family. She was one of WWE's youngest champions, being the first NXT Women's Champion and the only woman to hold the NXT Women's Title and WWE Diva's Title at the same time. Production has recently wrapped on a Dwayne Johnson produced biopic of Paige's family and her journey to the WWE, 'Fighting with my Family', starring Lena Headley from 'Game of Thrones' and Nick Frost from 'Shaun of the Dead' as Paige's parents and Florence Pugh as Paige.
