With "Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace" unable to capture the #1 spot at the box office this weekend (coming in at #4), its obvious this film has not held up well.  When it was originally released in 1999, Lucas intended the film to entertain the older fans, but appeal to the younger audience that hadn't been exposed to Star Wars yet.
