Sure, Alicia Silverstone feeds her baby from her own mouth, and breastfeeds the kid while walking around town, But "Blossom" star Mayim Bialik may have her beat.  Her son Fred is 3-and-a-half-years-old . . . and she still breastfeeds him.

Mayim talks about this chaos in her new parenting book called "Beyond the Sling:  A Real-Life Guide to Raising Confident, Loving Children the Attachment Parenting Way".

If you think Alicia Silverstone is a hippie parent, you haven't heard anything yet...

In addition to the long breastfeeding period, Mayim and her husband never used diapers for Fred or his 6-year-old brother Miles.  Apparently, the potty training somehow starts right away.  (???) Mayim says, quote, "[With diapers] you're basically training your child to use their pants as a bathroom and two years later we have them turn around and do all sorts of complicated manipulations to get them to unlearn."

The family lives in a one-bedroom home . . . and the entire family sleeps on mattresses on the floor. She says, quote, "When we treat our children kindly and expect love and give love, we hopefully are raising children that then expect that and give that to the world around them.  It is very consistent with a 'green' style of parenting."

Even though she can afford to, Mayim doesn't buy her kids expensive toys . . . or baby products like special soaps and shampoos. Mayim says, quote, "Our society's obsession with consumerism, especially in the realm of baby things, baby soaps and baby products. That's something that my husband and I, partly for frugality and partly for environmental reasons, have really rejected.  We figure everything out without spending a lot of money on that kind of stuff."

These days, Mayim plays Amy Farrah Fowler on "The Big Bang Theory".  And she's not just a brain on TV.  In real life, she has a PhD in neuroscience.
