Have You Ever Seen the Unaired Pilot for ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’? [VIDEO]

With the iconic show 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, we take a look at something not many have seen: the unaired pilot.

Directed and funded by Joss Whedon himself, the unaired pilot has only seen the light of day because it was leaked online, never having been included as a special feature on a DVD release. The pilot shares the general plot as the aired two-part premier, "Welcome to the Hellmouth", with a few notable exceptions:

• A 25-minute run time.
• The roles of Willow and Principal Flutie were originally played by Riff Regan and Stephen Tobolowsky, respectively.
• The characters of Jesse, Angel, and the Master do not appear.
• The library was the actual library of Torrance High School, where much of the Sunnydale High School scenes were filmed, as opposed to the sound stage set used in the first three seasons.
• The character of Darla is killed off.
