I found this comparison of  Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and South Korean Girlgroup Girls Generation's/SNSD's "Be Happy" on YouTube today claiming that Lady Gaga copied the Korean groups song. Here is what E-TRIBE, the composer behind “Be Happy” stated on March 11th,

Someone this morning told me that there were reports of Lady Gaga plagiarizing SNSD’s ‘Be Happy.’ I listened, and I do feel that there are similarities. The way the song flows and the arrangements are, honestly, the same. I am currently working to get in contact with Lady Gaga’s publishing label to find further information.”

After looking into the matter, An Myung Won of E-TRIBE stated on March 21st,

Those around us say that Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ plagiarized SNSD’s Be Happy,’ so I did check it out.  For now, we don’t have plans of taking any action.

It is true that the song’s flow and arrangement are similar, but after discussing it further with various other professionals, opinions remained divided.  There are too many convoluted parts to nail it as plagiarism, so we’ll be discussing further options calmly.

I'll admit they do sound very similar, but the simple beats used in both of these songs are commonly regurgitated, and as far as I know, not copyrighted.  But if Lady Gaga is sitting at home listening to a girl band from South Korea for inspiration then more power to her.
