As we covered the other week, PETA is going after Mario from the Super Mario Bros. video games for his wearing of a Tanooki suit in two of his games, "Super Mario Bros. 3" and the newly released "Super Mario 3D Land".  PETA has already responded to the backlash by saying people shouldn't take this seriously, but still be aware of real people who use the Tanuki Raccoon furs. 

Nintendo has responded to PETA's allegations in a recent interview with Eurogamer.net,

"Mario often takes the appearance of certain animals and objects in his games.  "These have included a frog, a penguin, a balloon and even a metallic version of himself. These lighthearted and whimsical transformations give Mario different abilities and make his games fun to play.  The different forms that Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves."

Though Nintendo has responded, we've yet to hear from Mario himself, until now.  College Humor put together one of their Dorkly Bits video game shorts as a response to PETA's claims,
